Topic 3C - Land Cover Usage Change
Land cover usage changes through time, due to various factors such as crop rotation or due to the seasons. Because of this, you need to classify images with a temporal resolution, by adding recurrent connections into the model.
For example, a tree changes colour throughout the seasons, but it doesn’t matter if it’s green or yellow – it’s always a tree.
Land cover usage is frequently used to address various issues, such as food security, the urban sprawl as well as to address ecosystem health.
